MIDLAND, MICHIGAN, USA – At the 5th International Conference on Advanced Downsizing & Turbocharging, Dow Corning Corporation – a global leader in silicone and silicon-based technology and innovation – will connect with transportation industry leaders and share information regarding the company’s proven, innovative solutions and collaboration for high-performance turbocharger hose materials.

The conference, which is presented by the International Quality and Productivity Center (IQPC), will focus on innovative charging technology, sophisticated downsizing concepts and methods of performance improvement. It is scheduled for March 18 through 20 at Dorint Pallas Hotel in Wiesbaden, Germany.

Dow Corning is a sponsor of the conference and also will be an exhibitor. In addition, Florence Magnan, automotive industry technical service specialist for Dow Corning Europe, will deliver a technical presentation during the conference. Her talk, " Reliable and novel fluorosilicone materials for high performance turbocharger hoses", is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. March 19.

Magnan’s presentation will focus on the challenges facing turbocharger hoses in terms of both performance demands and external regulations. She will share data related to some of Dow Corning’s recent developments, reinforcing the importance of selecting an optimized fluorosilicone as a high-performance hose liner capable of meeting today’s and tomorrow’s requirements.

"Turbocharger hose applications are becoming more demanding, requiring compatibility with lower and higher temperatures, exposure to fuels and exhaust gases, and the ability to withstand higher pressures," Magnan said. "At Dow Corning, we continue to innovate in this area and demonstrate ongoing and significant fluorosilicone improvements in terms of the key requirements for this challenging application. We are often collaborating with our customers to provide custom compounding for rubber."
