DEVELOPMENTS IN EPS FOR HEAVY-DUTY VEHICLES

ROADMAP FOR EPS INTEGRATION IN ELECTRIC COMMERCIAL VEHICLES

For heavy-duty vehicles, the technical realisation of an EPS system is completely different from passenger cars. As vehicle weight increases, new solutions are required to handle steering in 3.5 tonne EV trucks.

In this session, a subject matter expert will delve into the opportunities and challenges with developing an EPS system for heavy-duty vehicles, followed by a wider audience discussion looking at what OEMs and Tier-1s can do to achieve these goals.

  • Discuss OEM strategies to integrate EPS systems into commercial EVs.
  • Understand the differences in the technical realisation of EPS in commercial vehicles compared to passenger vehicles.
  • Explore the benefits of implementing electrical steering systems in heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Find out and assess current industry targets for increased rack force in commercial vehicles.
  • Discover solutions to increase existing EPS redundancy for heavier vehicles.
