Dipl. Ing. (FH) Kay Ullrich, born 1984 in Zwickau, Saxony, studied physical engineering at the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences in Zwickau, from which he graduated with a diploma. He began his industry-related research career in 2009 in the Smart Textiles group at TITV Greiz. Since 2013 he has been the deputy head of research and development for Smart Textiles at TITV Greiz and is primarily responsible for electronic function integration in textile materials and the automation of the manufacturing and processing technologies developed. Since 2021 he is the group leader of Smart Textile Systems. Another of his fields of work is the textile and electronic testing of smart textiles and their standardization, which he is promoting at European level and for which he is developing new processes and equipment. Mr. Kay Ullrich has extensive knowledge of process management, mechanical engineering, IT, electronics and test methods.
