Just a decade ago, the idea that BMW and Daimler would join forces to keep pace in the race to develop self-driving cars was almost unthinkable.
Likewise, Ford and VW jumping into bed to share investment in new mobility solutions was highly improbable.
But now, with competition so fierce, and huge potential benefits to be had, the race to develop production-ready highly automated cars has led to unprecedented levels of cooperation between key rivals.
Although by no means exhaustive, we were intrigued to discover some of the links that have been forged between firms that were once bitter rivals, but who are now throwing their resources in together to get ahead of the autonomous game.
