LATEST TRENDS & INNOVATIONS IN ELECTRIC VEHICLE BATTERY TECHNOLOGY

11:50 am - 1:10 pm SOLID STATE BATTERY TECHNOLOGY & LITHIUM IRON PHOSPHATE BATTERY TECHNOLOGY

There is a lot of buzz around Solid-State battery technology, even though they are still in an early phase and still very theoretical. The technology promises a lot from an energy density improvement, thermal efficiency, and stability point of view. LFP batteries are getting more popular, with a lot of players adopting an LFP strategy. Tesla is extending their battery business with LFP alongside NCA. As with anything, LFP batteries have both drawbacks and advantages. LFP might be more cost-effective, but they are less energy dense and come with a whole new range of thermal issues.

•       What does the solid-state and LFP battery landscape look like, and what stage are they at?

•       What is the expected cost impact on battery cells?

•       Examining the thermal management aspect of solid state batteries and LFP batteries

•       Quantifying improvement in energy density, increase in thermal efficiency and thermal stability of the cells
