Presentation | E-Motor Recyclability: Cradle to Grave Design Strategies

Presentation | E-Motor Recyclability: Cradle to Grave Design Strategies

Presentation by Dr. Jill Miscandlon, Senior Manufacturing Engineer, National Manufacturing Institute Scotland, University of Strathclyde - Where recycling & second life is a priority, not an afterthought!

Jill shows an example of how they enhanced the circular economy through innovative redesign of Airbus components at the University of Strathclyde.

The University of Strathclyde collaborated with Airbus and the European Space Agency to alter the production of propellant tanks, aiming to address sustainability concerns and contribute positively to the circular economy. The project focused on redefining manufacturing processes, incorporating repair strategies, promoting reuse, emphasising remanufacture, and maximising recycling.

We're continuing the discussion of sustainability at the Advanced E-Motor Technologies Europe 2024 conference!
