11:00 am - 11:40 am VEHICLE DYNAMIC SIMULATION CASE STUDY - DEMONSTRATING HOW COMPANIES ARE USING SIMULATION TO DETERMINE IF A SPECIFIC TIRE WILL FIT A SPECIFIC VEHICLE

Vehicle dynamics simulation is one of the most important topics at moment due to a growing push from vehicle manufacturers and car customers. More and more vehicle manufacturers and car customers are asking tire makers to do more simulations to understand if certain tires will fit specific vehicle.

This presentation/demonstration will demonstrate how cutting-edge vehicle dynamics simulation is being applied in practical settings.

  • What methods are used for vehicle dynamic simulation
  • What this method of simulation does
  • The benefits of simulation testing in comparison to other forms of tire testing

12:10 pm - 12:50 pm WHAT WILL FUTURE BUSINESS MODELS LOOK LIKE - AS VEHICLE ELECTRIFICATION, CONNECTIVITY & SUSTAINABILTY ASPECTS TAKE HOLD?

A vehicle’s tire now is not just a black round element; it's much more connected and far more technological than it’s ever been. The industry’s drive towards electrification, autonomy, connectivity, and sustainability is changing the role of the tire and the way in which this element of the vehicle was previously designed and integrated.

This presentation will set the foundations for the 16th Automotive Tire Technologies 2023 conference, establishing exactly where the industry is right now, and how the very latest technologies and trends in the transportation industry including electric and autonomous vehicles will influence and impact:

  • Role of the tire in the future
  • Tire integration
  • How the tire will connect with other parts of the car
  • Ways of manufacturing and producing tires
  • Sustainability and emission reduction goals

12:20 pm - 1:20 pm NETWORKING LUNCH BREAK

Connect with your peers and team members during lunch, before we come for further discussion

1:20 pm - 2:00 pm IMPROVEMENTS IN MATERIALS & HARDWARE - NON-PNEUMATIC TIRES | ACTIVE TIRES | SELF-SEALING TECHNOLOGY

  • What are we really doing with the materials of tires?
  • Are we still going to pneumatic tires or are we trying to get in the latest non-pneumatic tires?
  • What's the life of new materials and how long will they last?
  • What sensing technology will active tires use moving forward and what diagnosis systems are available in the market
  • What are the latest developments/trends in self-sealing technology?

Join industry experts as they answer these questions among others with set of presentations, and ensuing discussion.

2:00 pm - 2:40 pm TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEMS - TECHNOLOGIES TO PREDICT & REDUCE EV TIRE WEAR FOR AND PREDICT MILEAGE - PANEL DISCUSSION

  • How software module, implemented cars can estimate wear of tires
  • Using tire grip indicators and road surface information to draw an accurate estimate of longitudinal & lateral stiffness
  • Assessing the effectiveness of TPMS to establish age of tires
  • How aftermarket departments for EV manufacturers can use this information to provide value added services to the customer
  • Developments in AI
  • US TPMS legal requirement update due to Fast Act proposal

2:40 pm - 3:25 pm Keynote Fireside Discussion

Technology and data is becoming more and more important in everything that is being done. The tire industry is no exception, with the use of data coming from connected tires being seen as the way of the future. But there is a lot of unknown and extensive discussions on several key issues, including:

  • Who owns data?
  • Who gets access to it? How is this going to be established?
  • How can the tire contribute to the overall data acquisition and data elaboration?
  • Where is the data sorted during production of tires?
  • What is it being linked with – which brand of vehicle?
  • How long is it used for, for what purpose, and on which vehicle

This closing panel discussion gives attendees insight into who’s working on what, how they’re addressing some of these issues and find out what they are doing with data.

3:20 pm - 3:30 pm CHAIRPERSON’S CLOSING REMARKS: END OF AUTOMOTIVE TIRE TECHNOLOGY 2023
