Corning's light diffusing fiber element allows a controlled loss of light from the surface of
the fiber as opposed to a traditional fiber, where there is very little or no loss over short
lengths. This fiber offers flexibility to light designers with regard to form, fit, color and
size of the light element, and can be a source of non-visible wavelengths as well.
Applications that need the separation of the light emission element (fiber) from a light
generating source such as a diode can benefit from this light diffusing fiber solution.
