Part II of our eBook on ISO 26262 provides a more in-depth look at the guideline through an article on software safety risk as well as a whitepaper by Jonas Westman and Mattias Nyberg. They present a reference example on the application of ISO 26262 in practice where they perform a breakdown of a Safety Goal of an industrial system down to Software Safety Requirements on the C-code implementation. As a basis for structuring and formulating the requirements, they use the concepts of contracts and port variables.
