Ahsan Qamar is an accomplished engineering executive with over twelve years of experience in system architecture, ADAS, autonomous vehicles, and robotics, with a track record of impact across the automotive, aerospace, semiconductor, and manufacturing sectors. He currently leads systems architecture, design, integration, and test for Ford's Vehicle Platform product—a middleware that will power future Ford vehicles. Ahsan specializes in safety-critical systems and data-driven decision making and is widely recognized for his leadership in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), software-defined vehicles, and system safety. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechatronics from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, and brings a multidisciplinary background in mechatronics, robotics, control systems, and systems engineering. Beyond his industry roles, Ahsan contributes actively to the advancement of the field. He is a reviewer in mechatronics, system safety, and digital thread research, a former member of the OMG SysML Taskforce, and a CATIA Champion for MBSE. Known for building and mentoring high-performing engineering teams, he is passionate about applying technology and systems thinking to solve complex challenges and deliver meaningful societal value.
