Dr. Maximilian Hofmann

Dr.-Ing. Maximilian Hofmann obtained his Dipl.-Ing. Degree from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in 2007. He received his PhD Degree at the same university in 2012. He is currently Group Manager of the “Drive Inverters and Mechatronics“ Group in the “Power Electronics” division of Fraunhofer IISB in Erlangen, Germany. Since 2017 he is Deputy Head of the Department “Vehicle Power Electronics” with roundabout 50 employees.

His activities are in the area of inverter power electronics for battery supplied electric vehicles (i.e., road vehicles and aircraft) with a special focus on the mechatronic integration of power electronics and Wide-Band-Gap based inverter systems (e.g. SiC, GaN).
