Max Sundermeier

Group Leader - Digital Optical Systems Leibniz Universität Hannover

Max Caspar Sundermeier received his Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from RWTH Aachen University, and is currently a research associate and group lead at Leibniz University Hannover. Working towards safer automated systems with enhanced perception and decision-making capabilities, he leads a research group developing light functions based on innovative digital optical systems and data management. Additionally, he is personally researching the optimization of radiation distributions for camera- and lidar-based object detection.

Main Conference Day 1 | 30th August 2023

1:10 PM LEARN ABOUT CUTTING-EDGE NEXT-GENERATION PROJECTION LIGHTING

UNDERSTAND THE COST & CAPABILITIES OF FUTURE PROJECTION LIGHTING FEATURES

With current technology, OEMs have the capability to use projection lighting for cosmetic and branding purposes, but as advancements in lighting technology open up a new area of vehicle design, there are more opportunities to use projection lighting to create a different shape & presence on the road.

Join this panel session as experts discuss the OEM vision for future projection lighting, focusing on:

  • How different companies are approaching projection lighting technology
  • New possibilities for road projections whilst still driving
  • Discuss how projection lighting can be commoditised as technology becomes cheaper and readily available
  • Explore where the car will be allowed to project in-line with current regulations, and what legislation development is required for progression in this sector
  • Understand possibilities for entertainment lighting using animation & holographic projection
  • Discuss opportunities for integrating projection lighting in the vehicle interior

Main Conference Day 2 | 31st August 2023

4:20 PM LEARN HOW TO USE SENSOR DATA TO OPTIMISE HEADLAMP INTELLIGENCE

TECHNICAL PRESENTATION ON SENSING TECHNOLOGY & LIGHTING

  • Deep dive into how intelligent lighting systems are using merged datasets from Radar, LiDAR, and camera systems
  • Find out the industry’s approach to integrating multiple datasets, and how this impacting ADB technology
  • Understand the benefits of integrating world map data to optimise headlamp intelligence
  • Discover what networks can replace LIN to transfer higher levels of data and improve communication between the body control module and the headlamps
