See the light inside, outside and around the car of tomorrow with expert presentations that illuminate the future direction of automotive lighting
Intelligent Lighting Online is all about identifying and highlighting the future trends in automotive lighting, inside and outside of the car of tomorrow.
Our presentations from specially selected experts will feature the top challenges they face in all aspects of automotive lighting, display technology and HMI. This knowledge will be shared with our audience of industry professionals who will get the chance to send questions directly to our speakers.
Over time, the event will grow to chart the evolution of the industry, reflecting the changes in smart automotive lighting technology in, on and around the cars of tomorrow.
Giving an overview of automotive lighting, highlighting the progress made with exterior and interior smart lighting solutions
Examining the car as a display, exploring various screen technologies all around the vehicle
Identifying and offering ideas for the main challenges prominent in 2020, including Covid-19
Establishing where the leading companies are working, focusing on areas for growth, and identifying untapped opportunities to implement smart lighting solutions
Highlighting significant issues being faced right now, related to safety and legislation, and looking at how these might be addressed
In the last decade, the automotive lighting engineering field has rapidly evolved, integrating mechanical actuators, sensors and camera detection systems. New light distributions have been created for increasing safety and comfort to the customer.
In this context, the Covid-19 crisis represents a strong challenge to the automotive industry. To overcome these unique challenges, new strategies must be developed to bring about new opportunities and innovative solutions. During this session, Whilk Gonçalves of Groupe PSA will explore some of the latest ideas being explored at the car manufacturing giant, including the evolution of lighting from static to automated systems, the importance of sensing and new ways of communicating through symbols projection and extended lighting.
In this opening session, we will explore:
Lighting in the era of automated or semi-automated cars
Modern automotive lighting strategy and new communication techniques
Optimization techniques to face Covid-19 challenges, including transversal modules, brand identities and smart solutions
Whilk Gonçalves, Head of Innovation – Lighting Signalisation and Exterior Equipments at Groupe PSA (Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Opel and Vauxhall)
Join Radiant Vision Systems' Matt Scholz as he explores applications and performance considerations of near-infrared (NIR) light used in automotive interiors.
Scholz will explore topics such as driver monitoring systems (DMS) and other 3D sensing systems that improve vehicle safety and meet emerging automotive requirements by the EU and the US. He will look at how regulations are driving the market for NIR sensing in automotive interiors and how the role and performance of NIR light sources is gaining new significance within the vehicle.
In this session, we will discover:
The role of near-infrared (NIR) light for driver monitoring systems (DMS) and in-cabin sensing
Component comparison: LEDs, lasers (VSCELs) and their applications
Performance considerations of NIR components for automotive interiors
How to measure NIR components for safe and effective sensing
Matt Scholz, Automotive Business Leader at Radiant Vision Systems
Renault Groupe's Gabriel Feisan will look at LED applications in the automotive industry including next-generation µLEDs. Feisan will review the latest lighting components, innovations and ideas in the field, as well as explore power consumption solutions, CO2 emissions and new regulations applied in 2020.
Join this session to hear the latest on:
µLED technology and its applications on vehicles
Potential lighting applications on the car of the future
How LED technology can help the environment and assist in traffic issues
Gabriel Feisan, Project Manager – Lighting and Exterior Equipments, Groupe Renault
