The permanent magnet motor and induction machine are both used in automotive traction. But what about cost-price, lifetime and how are they controlled? On the long term, the induction machine tends to be more cost-effective. There is not so much difference between the two machines as you would expect in terms of controlling them. We will explore the basics of the embedded digital control methods and indicate the key components and their functions. In this session we will look at:

An advanced solution for the measurement, inspection and quality control of permanent magnet rotors is needed to gain more knowledge of the impact of the magnets on the performance of the motor.
