Embedded within our Coil Driver™ traction inverter product, coil switching enables two operating modes in a single electric motor. This significantly impacts the electric powertrain in three aspects: performance, efficiency and use of rare earth content.

Performance: Coil Driver increases the performance for a given electric motor or enables reaching the same performance with a smaller electric motor.

Efficiency: Coil Driver increases the efficiency which translates to longer range or smaller battery pack required for a given range.

Rare earth content: via use of electric gearing, Coil Driver enables use of rare earth free or magnet free electric motors to meet or exceed performance requirements.
