Advanced E-Motor Technology

8:00 am - 10:30 am Workshop D: E-MOTOR & NVH BEHAVIOR: INTEGRATION AND EFFICIENCY
This workshop’s primary goal is to provide an in-depth look on noise and vibration behavior of electric motors since an electric powertrain features additional and different components as well as new operation modes compared to a conventional powertrain. The workshop is aimed to provide some concrete examples on e-motor integration. In this workshop you will be able to: • Provide design guideline of how to optimize emotor for NVH • Vehicle integration techniques for motor/invertor whine sound reduction • Demonstrate NVH analysis method to achieve best in class motor NVH performance

Advanced E-Motor Technology

11:00 am - 1:30 pm Workshop E | ESTABLISHING A TOOL INDEPENDENT MULTI OBJECTIVE OPTIMIZATION WORKFLOW FOR E-MOTOR DEVELOPMENT
The trend to highly integrated products in automotive industry is
additionally increasing the complexity of E-Drives. Inverter, E-Motor
and Gearbox are melting together, and physics are interacting. It’s
not possible anymore to optimize a single component on its own,
in fact there is a need for holistic approaches and system development.
This workshop will show the current status of Great Wall Motor
Austria R&D to handle multi objective optimizations in E-Motor
Development. The target is the establishment of a tool independent
platform for simulation workflows and loops. A special focus will
be on the discussion of:
• A special focus will be on the discussion of:
• Simulation Software Interfaces
• Simulation Software version and release management
• Material data management
• Discussion and experience exchange on simulation tool
coupling: Do you prefer a versatile coupling platform or a
turnkey solution from one software supplier? What’s your
experience so far, pros and cons?

Advanced E-Motor Technology

2:30 pm - 5:00 pm Workshop F: HOW TO DESIGN E-MOTOR SAFETY FEATURES FOR AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES

This workshop’s primary goal is to understand how e-motors will
adapt to the new and challenging safety requirements of autonomous
vehicles. In this workshop you will be able to:
• Get a look on how to manage power usage
• Current examples on battery safety
• Future challenges
