Project Manager Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany
Matthias Luh received his B.Sc. degree 2016 from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany. He completed his bachelor’s thesis about active configurable Li-Ion battery modules at the Institute for Data Processing and Electronics (IPE) at KIT and continued research in the field of active balancing and active reconfigurable battery systems. Among others, he designed, set up and analyzed a battery system with active balancing capabilities for a small racing car of the "VDE-Kart" university group and a modular multilevel battery system that drives a three-phase synchronous motor without any additional inverters. He heads a project of “Engineers Without Borders – Karlsruhe Institute of Technology", in which a group of young engineers support the electrification of an industrial campus in the DR Congo. While finishing his M.Sc. degree course on electric drives and power electronics, Matthias Luh is currently preparing for a PhD in electrical engineering.
