The 16th Edition of Automotive Functional Safety is Returning to Munich in 2026

The automotive safety standards landscape continues to change at a rapid pace, and it is no longer the case that safety is easily understood and complied with across the automotive industry.

In every area, automation applications and use cases continue to rise, particularly with the increasing development of AI tools and features. With mechanical systems being replaced in vehicle systems, moving drivers out of the loop and replaced with automated driving functions, functional safety and SOTIF are increasingly under the spotlight, and under pressure to deliver, with safety remaining the top priority and regulations becoming stricter.

With continuing developments for software-defined vehicles and increasing cybersecurity and safety requests, a new automotive ecosystem is emerging that functional safety needs to adapt to and integrate with.

With extensive changes coming from automotive safety standards, it is more important than ever before to be up to date on the latest standards and safety challenges impacting automotive, from AI in safety applications to the latest developments & features in L2 to L4 autonomous driving systems, and approaches to knit-together safety standards, Automotive Functional Safety Week 2026 is the must-attend event of the year.

We invite you to join us in Munich, in April 2026, to gather for this one-of-a-kind event, as the single meeting place for the automotive functional safety community, including ISO working group part leaders and members, and technical safety experts.
