Riccardo Vincelli

Director of the Functional Safety Competence Center Renesas Electronics

Riccardo Vincelli works as a Director at Renesas Electronics where he worked for more than 20 years. He's heading the Functional Safety Competence Center responsible for the technical assessment of many world wide products (MCU, SoC, Analogue ASICs and SW) as well as a corporate advisor for functional safety. He's been involved with the creation of ISO26262 since 2005 as well as ISO-PAS-19451 (later integrated into 2nd edition of ISO26262. He’s also STP member of ANSI/UL4600 as well as a member of Functional Safety and ORAD groups in SAE and IEEE/P2851.

Focus Day | Monday 15th April 2024

9:15 HOW TO EFFECTIVELY COMBINE ISO 26262 AND SOTIF | UNDERSTAND THE INTERACTION, INTERFACE & DEPENDABILITY BETWEEN FUSA AND SOTIF AS DISCUSSIONS UNFOLD ON HOW TO COMBINE BOTH STANDARDS

Be part of this panel discussion as working group members and functional safety experts pave the way for combining ISO 26262 & ISO 21448.

  • Gain insight into the main commonalities and differences between ISO 26262 & ISO 21448.
  • Understand what information needs to be exchanged between safety, SOTIF, and security, and at which stage of the lifecycle it should be communicated.
  • Discuss the different enabling factors from FuSa and SOTIF to get from production to release.
  • Debate which specifications from ISO 26262 & SOTIF are in conflict, and where it makes sense for processes to be kept separate.

Main Day One | Tuesday 16th April 2024

9:40 FAST-TRACKING FUSA | LEARN NEW METHODS AND PROPOSALS TO MAKE THE FUSA PROCESS RAPID & STREAMLINED

Join this panel of experts & working group members as they share proposals to achieve better efficiency, streamline activities, and fast-track functional safety processes.

  • Hear new methods for making processes more efficient & cost effective, without compromising on safety and integrity.
  • What solutions are companies proposing to optimise the interface between companies in the supply chain?
  • Find out how large language models like Chat GPT can be used to automate functional safety activities.
  • Discuss how FuSa processes can be streamlined where functional safety has already been achieved by the platform developer.
  • Share ideas for taking a holistic view on how standards can interact together to avoid duplicating processes and adding unnecessary cost.

18:00 CHAIRPERSON'S CLOSING REMARKS & END OF DAY

End of Application of ISO 26262 2022!

Main Day Two | Wednesday 17th April 2024

Main Day Three | Thursday 18th April 2024

13:00 UNDERSTANDING ASIL DECOMPOSITION & QM IN ISO 26262

  • Join this session to ask an expert your burning questions on ASIL decomposition and QM components, gain more clarity on the decomposition process, and learn what QM really means for functional safety.

13:40 EXPERT VIEWS ON HOW FUNCTIONAL SAFETY IS EVOLVING, THE DIRECTION OF SAFETY STANDARDS, AND WHAT TO EXPECT FROM ISO 26262 3RD EDITION CLOSING DISCUSSION LED BY WORKING GROUP MEMBERS AND SAFETY EXPERTS

After four days of networking, learning, and idea sharing, it’s time to wrap up the 2024 conference. But before we do that, let’s look to the future of ISO 26262.

  • Join experts for this finale discussion as they discuss the next steps for the ISO 26262 3rd edition, and forecast which technologies they expect to impact the direction of functional safety in the future.

Check out the incredible speaker line-up to see who will be joining Riccardo.
