Department Head - Safety Assurance for AI Fraunhofer IKS

Dr. Chih-Hong Cheng is currently heading the "Safety Assurance for AI" research department at Fraunhofer IKS. Before Fraunhofer, he was a technical manager at DENSO and principal scientist at the fortiss system and software institute in Munich. His research interests include safety engineering, formal methods, and AI/ML for trustworthy autonomy, where he collaborated with industrial partners from various domains including automotive, railway, and industrial automation. Chih-Hong also serves as an expert and sub-team lead for the ISO PAS 8800 (Road Vehicles: Safety and AI) currently under development.
