Zachary Sabato

Senior Engineer, Vehicle Dynamics and Chassis Control Hyundai Mobis North America

“Zac Sabato received his B.S. from Drexel University (2005) and his Ph.D. from the University of California-Davis (2011). Following this he served as Associate Director for the Hyundai Center of Excellence in Vehicle Dynamic Systems & Control at UC Davis, and as an Associate Instructor for the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department. In 2019, he joined MOBIS North America Technical Center where his research interests include mechatronics modeling, integrated chassis control, connected vehicles and driver assistance.”

STEERING PLENARY

10:45 AM CENTRALIZED CONCEPTS & ARCHITECTURE TO IMPROVE VEHICLE PERFORMANCE

INTEGRATED CHASSIS CONTROL PANEL DISCUSSION LED BY OEMs & TIER 1 COMPANIES

INTEGRATED CHASSIS CONTROL PANEL DISCUSSION LED BY OEMs

& TIER 1 COMPANIES

The industry’s interest in integrated chassis control has grown recently, leading

to companies exploring centralized controller concepts using components in the

system as smart actuators.

Join this panel discussion as OEMs and Tier-1s address the following:

  • Learn what is the OEM’s preferred architectures for integrated chassis control,

and what they think is the hardware that should be used

  • Find out how integrated chassis control works in a fully integrated vehicle,

how it is being designed and where redundancy lies in the system

  • Listen as OEMs and suppliers discuss and establish individual responsibilities

when designing integrated chassis control systems

  • Establish where responsibility lies for ensuring functional safety of the system
  • Hear multiple perspectives on combining multiple actuators instead of

doubling up on front actuators

10:15 AM LEARN HOW TO MAKE ARCHITECTURE CHANGES/RE-BUILD THE SYSTEM TO ACCOMODATE STEER-BY-WIRE SYSTEMS

TIER-1 PRESENTATION

  • Discuss how suspension systems are playing a role

now and in the future, and what changes are needed

to meet customer demands

  • Gain an overview of market trends for suspension

systems
