We sat down with Frank Schwartz, last year's keynote speaker at the Advanced Lighting for Automotive Summit, to discuss the importance of vehicle lighting as well as the implications Uber's recent self-driving accident will have on the lighting community. Schwartz shares insight from a wide variety of areas: the influence of automotive lighting on overall safety, recent developments taking place within the lighting market, broad challenges faced by autonomous vehicles (AV), reevaluating the exterior lighting needs for AV's and more. To make way for autonomous vehicles in the near future, these challenges will need to be addressed now.
