Dr Vyacheslav (Slava) Birman has a PhD in Polymer Engineering from the University of Akron, and an MSc in Physics/Optics from Saratov State University, Russia. He has been a lighting technology expert at Continental since 2001, and has over 200 publications (including patents), 293 references on his publications, and 66 patents in the USA, Europe, Japan, Russia and China.
