Courtney P. Hewitt

Head of Technical Business Development & Design, Americas OSRAM Continental

Courtney is Head of Technical Business Development & Design for the Americas region of OSRAM Continental. In this role, she is responsible for directing strategic technical development and identifying new opportunities and applications for the company’s intelligent automotive lighting portfolio in the region. Hewitt brings almost 20 years of experience in lighting and industrial design across various industries. Prior to the formation of OSRAM Continental in 2018, she was Automotive Design Lead for OSRAM where she was instrumental in shaping the company’s regional automotive product strategy. From 2012 to 2015, she served as Industrial Designer for OSRAM Sylvania where she led product planning and design for outdoor products. Prior to her time at OSRAM, she held various lighting design and creative roles for architectural and automotive applications. She began her career in 2003 as Exhibition Lighting Designer for the Guggenheim Museum. She has been a featured speaker, both domestically and internationally, at multiple lighting symposia. She holds 6 patents,15 lighting design awards and has published over 30 designs. Her award-winning designs have been featured in numerous publications and exhibitions worldwide. Hewitt served as Vice Chair for the New York chapter of the Industrial Designers Society of America from 2010 to 2012 while also teaching industrial design as adjunct professor at the New York School of Interior Design. Hewitt earned a Master of Industrial Design from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Vermont.
