Philip Lapczynski

Sr. Staff Engineer – Cybersecurity Renesas Electronics America

Phil is a senior staff engineer for cybersecurity at Renesas Electronics America. He has spent his entire career in automotive making embedded systems more reliable and secure. His current role includes university research projects, standardization efforts such as SAE J3101, and keeping Renesas autonomous vehicles secure. He has spoken at security conferences such escar USA and SAE ComVEC and is on the board of advisors for the secure over the air update project Uptane (which Popular Science named a top security innovation in 2017). Phil previously worked at Vector North America as the program manager for OTA and cybersecurity.
