Conference Day One

9:10 AM Welcome Panel Discussion – Part 2 | Assumptions vs expectations: How to address complexity in electronic product development

• During this second part of the panel discussion, we welcome on the stage representatives from Tier 1s and OEMs for addressing concerns in product complexity and traceability.
• An opportunity for car maker representatives to discuss challenges they currently face with electronic suppliers.
• Safety mechanisms vs product availability: Is there such thing as too much safety? What are the expectations of car makers on system availability for highly automated features

9:40 AM Supplemental FMEA for Monitoring and System Response - Application to Functional Safety-Relevant Systems

Traditional Design FMEA addresses fault detection prior to production. FMEA-MSR adds real value by assessing the capability of diagnostic detection and fault reaction to reduce the risk of harm or regulatory noncompliance in customer operation.
• New metrics are introduced (Frequency and Monitoring)
• New risk assessment method is introduced (Action Priority)

Workshop Day

2:30 PM C | FMEA ALIGNMENT – INTRODUCTION TO THE NEW 2019 AIAG AND VDA FMEA GUIDELINE

In June 2019, the first edition of the AIAG & VDA FMEA Handbook has been released for the automotive industry which acts as the interface between the two previous separate standards. The purpose of this is the assistance of suppliers in the development of “Design FMEA, Process FMEA and Supplemental FMEA for Monitoring and System Response”. Join this workshop to understand how this new method can help functional safety managers in reducing complexity caused from product complexity and distributed development in this new guideline developed by the two leading standardization bodies in the field.

Check out the incredible speaker line-up to see who will be joining Mike.
