Discover how new innovative technology based on 5G and MQTT will improve road safety

The rollout of 5G networks presents an opportunity for creating and deploying innovative solutions to improve the safety of our road infrastructure.
The goal is to improve communications between all stakeholders to reduce the number of fatalities and serious injuries.

New V2X applications are already making it possible for vehicles to communicate with road infrastructure, other vehicles (like e-bikes), and even pedestrians.

However, in order for V2X to be rolled out widely, it is imperative there’s a way for the players to communicate fast, efficiently, with high density and very low latency. 5G networks and edge computing provide the network and processing infrastructure that makes this possible.

In this webinar, we will explore how MQTT can be used at the applications layer to send data between the actors in a V2X use case in a fast and efficient way to improve mobility and safety.

Vodafone is a leader in 5G and in the development of applications for the automotive industry. The technology communications company is now introducing a new platform that will reside in their edge computing centers to enable real-time V2X applications. The core of this platform is based on MQTT and HiveMQ.

During this webinar, you will learn how innovations in 5G technology will improve road safety, the proposed architecture for V2X solutions and how MQTT can be used to enable V2X applications.

About HiveMQ

HiveMQ helps companies connect devices to the Internet. The company enables fast, secure, efficient, scalable, and reliable bi-directional movement of data between devices and the cloud. Over 130 customers, including many Fortune 500 companies, rely on HiveMQ’s products in production for mission-critical use cases like connected cars, logistics, Industry 4.0, and connected IoT products. HiveMQ’s customers are using the platform as the core infrastructure platform for building new digital and state-of-the-art products.

The company’s flagship product, also called HiveMQ, is an MQTT-based messaging platform that provides:

  • MQTT broker that scales to 10 million connected devices
  • Elastic clustering for extreme reliability and fault tolerance
  • Real-time monitoring of device data
  • Secure IoT data movement from device to the cloud and back
  • Flexible extension framework for easy integration into existing enterprise systems

The company recognizes that the HiveMQ platform and MQTT are the best way to create fast, reliable, and cost-efficient IoT applications. The company also offers a cloud-managed MQTT broker called HiveMQ Cloud. This cloud offering makes it easy to get started with MQTT, and it is ideal to quickly start proof of concepts and small projects but scales out to support millions of devices. It is free to connect up to 100 MQTT clients.
